UF Information Technology (UFIT) is seeking an entry-level IT Project Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO), a unit within UFIT.
Employment with UFIT provides an excellent opportunity to work with other employees who are dedicated and focused on understanding and interpreting the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.
The Project Management Office (PMO) is part of the University of Florida’s Information Technology organization.
Our primary goals are to standardize project-related governance processes and facilitate the sharing of resources, methodologies, tools, and techniques.
Through project management and software procedures, the University can document, execute, monitor, control, and fully implement changes regarding unique products, services, or even standard business processes.
Some key responsibilities and characteristics of this position are: Work with customer(s) to define project scope, objectives, outcomes, and benefits.
Ensure projects managed adhere to defined quality standards, policies, procedures, and best practices.
Meet with technical resources and architects to ensure the design and approach chosen to execute the project will meet the needs of the customer.
Lead projects from original concept through final implementation that are the responsibility of the Project Management Office.
Work in a collaborative team environment, participate in the full software development life cycle and produce quality enterprise solutions.
Lead medium and large sized projects across multi-disciplinary teams, composed of various levels of personnel, vendors, and clients to create and deploy successful projects.
Ensure assignments of appropriate resources and governance structures according to project needs.
Manage scope, schedule, and resources and accomplish project objectives by applying project management competencies.
Develop detail work plans, resource plans, project estimates and status reports.

Benefits Full-time TEAMS employees will accrue vacation leave at a rate of 6.
769 hours biweekly/22 days annually and sick leave at 4 hours biweekly/13 days annually.
In addition, employees are eligible for ten paid holidays each year.
Vacation-accruing TEAMS employees are eligible for four personal leave days/32 hours per year, assuming full-time status, and are intended to give the flexibility to enable units to close from December 26 to 31, when possible, determined on a unit-by-unit basis.
