The Program Coordinator will work closely with the Associate Director, CVSC to manage CEVSS program but should be very comfortable working autonomously.
Essential functions of the role include:
Veteran Student Support
Identify and collaborate to eliminate barriers across the university hindering veteran student services.
Serve as a student success coach, meeting semesterly with students to increase veteran retention and graduation rates and provide wraparound support services.
Coordinate Veteran Advisory Board meetings to update and identify practices to serve veterans.
Collaborate with campus, community, and organizations to establish and promote support services for veteran students, including students experiencing distress that may impact their academic experience
Maintain timely and accurate records related to student interactions and conduct follow-up with students
Program Development
Assist with developing and coordinating student support programs such as orientation, peer mentorship, experiential learning, or career programming.
Coordinates the development, presentation, and assessment of education and outreach content to improve faculty, staff, family, and student knowledge of Veteran programs and services.
Develop, implement, and monitor veterans' admissions assistance program.
Support development and implementation of new software programming to coordinate veteran services.
Attend relevant conferences and workshops with the goal of improving the program and services and/or as requested.
Administration
Assist with the development and coordination of data consolidation to a dashboard.
Monitor and prepare monthly reports based on veteran data.
Assist with tracking and completion of CEVSS budget reports and evaluations.
Assists with the creation of and delivery of timely reports to support CEVSS grant reporting requirements.
Other Duties
Performs other duties as assigned by Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean, Associate Director, or appropriate administrator in support of the grant.
Expected Salary:
42,000 - $45,000
Minimum Requirements:
Master’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Three years of professional experience, including one year of demonstrated experience supervising student staff, professional staff, or volunteers.
Demonstrate proactive, collaborative, timely, effective, and compassionate work style.
Experience or knowledge of veterans and military-connected services.
Experience maintaining relationships and partnerships.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Data analysis and report-generating experience.
