The Work You Will Do: ACCOUNTANT IV (37002266) DISTRICT 2 ADMINISTRATION OFFICE This position is responsible for providing a high level of coordination and assistance to the Operations & Management Consultant II-SES, Operations & Management Consultant Manager, Bureau Chief, and Park Management and Administrative Staff.
Assists in conducting audit of all District 2 parks to ensure operational compliance in all administrative activities.
Handles FLEET management and reporting and backs up the OMC II and GOC I position.

Where You Will Work: District 2 Administration 4801 Camp Ranch Road Gainesville, FL 32641 The District 2 Administration Office is located within Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park by the La Chua Trail.
Paynes Prairie is unique in many ways.
Nowhere else in Florida can visitors experience wild-roaming bison and horses.
Nearly 300 species of birds also frequent the park along with alligators, deer and many other animals.
The LaChua Trail is 3 miles round-trip from the north rim of the prairie to the observation tower.
This trail provides scenic views of wet prairie and marsh habitat including Alachua Sink and Alachua Lake.

71 annual Your Specific Responsibilities: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: In carrying out the duties of this position, the incumbent is expected at all times to be aware of and abide by the Department’s Standards of Conduct, as well as any and all departmental and/or work unit rules, directives, policies, procedures, and/or general orders applicable to performing the duties of this position.
This position performs professional accounting work by designing, implementing and maintaining accounting and budgeting records and procedures for a Florida Park Service District.
Audits and analyzes technical reports for all budget categories for all units within the district.
Assists parks in setting up and maintaining accounting systems to accurately track expenditures.
Prepares and tracks budget allocation adjustments and amendments.
Analyzes operations, trends, costs and obligations incurred and prepares reports for management review to accurately reflect expenditures, projections, surpluses and deficits.
Audits park purchasing practices to insure adherence to Department procedures.
Performs reviews of fiscal procedures to ensure adherence with rules, policies and procedures and prepares reports on the audit findings.
Performs other related duties as required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: KNOWLEDGE OF: accounting principles, practices and procedures computer operations ABILITY TO: prepare financial statements and reports design and implement accounting systems prepare and maintain a variety of accounting records analyze and interpret accounting data understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures relating to an accounting program utilize problem solving techniques communicate effectively verbally and in writing establish and maintain effective working relationships with others work independently maintain a valid driver license Minimum Qualifications: Valid driver’s license.
