Building Automation and Control Systems: Leverage field expertise and tools to handle various tasks related to building automation and control systems.
This includes installing, operating, maintaining, adjusting, repairing, calibrating, commissioning, troubleshooting, and programming pneumatic and digital controllers for HVAC, heating hot water, chilled water, steam, and more.
Addressing programming and communication issues, integrating controllers and communication protocols, and resolving BAS Ethernet network communication and security issues are also part of the responsibilities.
Additionally, tasks include troubleshooting BAS server and application issues, maintaining AHU scheduling for energy efficiency, managing remote alarm paging, and overseeing the review and commissioning of new construction and renovation projects.
Ensuring proper documentation for IP addresses, BACnet ID’s, BBMD tables, and software licensing, as well as maintaining BAS user administration and system databases, are essential components of the role.
Moreover, writing and controlling sequences and drawings round out the responsibilities of this position.
Computer Desktop Support and Server Administration: Provide comprehensive computer desktop support, encompassing troubleshooting, updates, installations, and license tracking for a range of software packages including Maxpanda Facilities Management, FluidSecure, Desigo (Siemens Suite Products), Reliable Controls, Adobe apps, AutoCAD, DynaFire, remote and VPN software, iOS, Android, and various Microsoft applications.
Hardware support is offered for servers, PCs, laptops, iPads, plotters, scanners, printers, large format copiers, mobile devices, and video surveillance systems.
Serving as an administrator on IFAS facility’s servers, responsibilities include installing patches and updates, managing connections and access to drives, and acting as a liaison between FPO and IFASIT/UFIT.
Wipe hard drives and prep IT equipment for surplus.
Design and maintain the IFAS FPO website.
Update and develop new content as necessary.
Document instructions and how-to tutorials for facilities applications and procedures.
Develop and update the annual operating/licensing budget.
Furthermore, the role involves conducting personnel action support, such as adding/removing profiles, managing access to software, and processing hire/exit checklists and memos.
Additional Responsibilities: Ensure the safe and proper use of university owned vehicles, tools, and equipment.
Responding to emergency call-ins on campus and performing after-hours work, remotely, when necessary, is also part of the responsibilities.
State-wide support to all sites, with travel as required via state vehicle.
This also includes keeping users informed of updates, system bugs, and new features, and providing a training forum via Microsoft Teams, OneNote, email, and telephone support as applicable.
Develops quotes and proposals for equipment, applications, warranties, etc.
Performs equipment purchases.
Independently maintains critical computer/equipment inventory.
Determines the needs of staff to acquire firmware updates for various electronic HVAC equipment.
Inspecting and approving/disapproving contractors' work, ensuring compliance with safety guidelines among lower-level personnel and vendors are key aspects of the role.
Tasks include completing requisitions, operating UF vehicles, and performing any related duties as assigned.
Performing additional duties as assigned.
Expected Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 (commensurate with experience and qualifications) Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications: • Should have verifiable experience with data management, MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Web editing, networking protocols, remote management, and the ability to communicate technical information effectively, both written and oral.
• AutoCAD, SQL, knowledge of building envelope, HVAC, and related material.
