This position provides technical IT support as required by the College of Public Health and Health Professions.
This position will serve the needs of the users from College Administration and all Departments within the College.
This position will provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 support and reports directly to the IT Support Supervisor position.
Assist customers with day-to-day computer operations and provide Tier 1 and 2 technical support via email, phone, remote connections, and in-person.
Monitor the helpdesk ticketing system.
Perform initial computer imaging, setup and installation of equipment.
This includes PC and Mac workstations, laptops, iPads, Android tablets and related hardware and peripherals as needed.
Provide quotes for new computing equipment.
Manage user accounts, file access and mail resources.
Support by analyzing customers IT needs, develop technical requirements and provide support for software and hardware issues.
Assist customers in the understanding and use of computer related equipment and software provided by the college.
Solve complex equipment and software problems through various means including reading, self-study, and online research.
Provide support for printer, scanners, and copiers.
Monitor and mitigate virus/malware threats.
Participate in the implementation of IT-related initiatives and long-term projects ranging from simple to complex in nature.
Keep knowledge current on PHHP and UF IT policies.
Document tasks, projects, and frequently asked questions in an online IT repository.
Expected Salary: $23.
00 - $26.
34 per hour; commensurate with education, experience, and skills.
Minimum Requirements: Associate’s degree and two years of relevant experience; or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of relevant experience.
Appropriate college coursework may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
Knowledge of basic computer networking.
Knowledge of computer network security concepts.
Ability to prioritize tasks.
Ability to learn on the job from books and Internet resources.
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with users and peers.
Ability to diagnose and resolve computer problems.
