This position provides timely human resources processing, monitoring, reporting, and troubleshooting for the Levin College of Law.
The position works with College leaders to ensure that faculty, staff, and student research assistants are recruited, hired, and paid in accordance with state and federal law and all university regulations and policies.
In doing so, the position assists College leaders with new employee recruitment processes, onboarding, compensation management, and other employment actions such as reclassifications, separations, retirements, and leave requests.
The position also refines and develops procedures designed to streamline all human resources processes.
In the performance of these duties, the position consistently seeks to align talent at the College of Law with our goal of remaining one of the very best law schools in the nation.
Job duties for this position include the following:
Design and implement administration of HR policies and procedures for the school.
Manage cyclical HR and academic deadlines related to areas of responsibility and ensure HR Team transactions and communications are timed appropriately.
Coordinate the efficient and effective hiring of all Levin College of Law employees.
Serve as the first point of contact for all HR matters related to the College.
Consult with faculty and Staff by providing advice and guidance related to human resources.
Ensure that college HR processes and procedures comply with federal state and university regulations.
Assist with the development of job postings.
Work with hiring supervisors and/or search committees to help them through the hiring process and maintain and update job postings and close them when positions are filled.
Serves as the primary liaison between main campus HR and the college.
Ensure that Levin College of Law employees are appropriately classified and compensated.
Review and input changes to employee classification and/or compensation.
Manage the off-boarding processes at the College.
Work directly with College leaders on the procedures for processing all new hires.
Ensures the completion of required offer letters, hiring paperwork, payroll processing, and tax documentation.
Enters appointments into PeopleSoft and verifies appointments are distributed to the correct account.
Monitors active student employee appointments and ensures timely terminations when appropriate.
Works with hiring managers and other College leaders and departments to provide a smooth and welcoming onboarding experience for all new employees.
Monitor time and leave reports for accuracy and completion of recorded and approved hours.
Assist employees with questions regarding payroll, time worked, leave taken, and time/leave requests and approvals.
Collect required documentation and enter leave of absence actions into PeopleSoft.
Review the appropriate usage of leave and other benefits by employees.
Prepare reports for College leaders and monitor the effectiveness of HR policies.
Maintain employee records.
Assist College leaders in collecting and analyzing data necessary for College accreditors and other entities.
Provide College leaders with data necessary to make decisions concerning future hiring needs.
Cross-train with the College of Law’s Financial Analyst II and performs financial functions as needed.
Continuously evaluate existing financial and HR processes and provides feedback to the financial team and College leadership in order to identify operational issues and propose improvements.
Participates in implementing continuous improvements.

Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area and two years of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field
- Previous work at another University of Florida unit or at another law school
- Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Proficiency in PeopleSoft and other UF HR systems
- Proficiency in UF’s reporting tools
