Americanflat is seeking a self-motivated and skilled Senior Staff Accountant to join our remote team.
We are open to both full-time and part-time positions.
In this role, you will take on the responsibility of overseeing all facets of the company's financial accounting processes, with a primary focus on ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the timely closure of financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Statement Preparation: Collaborate in the preparation and consolidation of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Internal Controls: Establish and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard the integrity of financial data.
General Ledger Management: Oversee all aspects of the general ledger, including monthly closings, reconciliation of inaccuracies, and resolution of imbalances.
Financial Analysis: Provide monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial analyses to support strategic decision-making.
External Reporting: Assist in fulfilling external reporting requirements, including those for banks and regulatory authorities.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Coordinate and assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial research processes.
Compliance: Research accounting issues to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
Variance Analysis: Analyze and report variances, highlighting areas of financial performance.
Audit Support: Serve as a liaison to external auditors, preparing and compiling reports for audit purposes.
Team Supervision: Supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting departments, ensuring smooth operations.
Work Review: Assist with planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of accounting assistants and bookkeepers.
Tax Compliance: Assist with various compliance matters, including annual income tax, sales tax compliance, and foreign tax filings.
Additional Tasks: Collaborate with the controller on a variety of other tasks and projects as needed or required.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or higher in accounting (Transcripts available upon request).
2+ years of experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, such as SAP, Netsuite, or Oracle.
Strong experience with Quickbooks and ERP software migration and implementation is highly preferred.
Proficiency in QuickBooks Desktop and the ability to quickly adapt to new software.
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP, and INDEXMATCH, and proficiency in the MS Office Suite.
A solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and applicable regulations.
Proven experience in accounting supervision or senior accounting roles.
Fluent/native English is a must.
Availability required from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST.
