Job Title: Assistant Controller Job Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Controller to join our dynamic finance team.
The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the general ledger, driving process improvements, implementing efficient financial processes, overseeing cost allocations, and leveraging technology to enhance financial reporting.
This position requires a candidate with strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
The successful candidate will have experience with Power BI and a proven track record in implementing and optimizing financial systems and processes.
Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Management: Ensure accurate and timely recording of financial transactions.
Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts to maintain the integrity of financial data.
Prepare and review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Process Improvement and Implementation: Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains within the finance department.
Work closely with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and streamline financial workflows.
Develop and document standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.
Cost Allocations: Oversee the cost allocation process to ensure accurate and equitable distribution of expenses.
Analyze cost allocation methods and recommend improvements for better cost management.
Technology Integration: Leverage technology, including Power BI, to enhance financial reporting and analysis capabilities.
Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend tools that can improve financial processes.
Collaborate with IT to implement and integrate financial systems and software.
Financial Reporting: Prepare regular financial reports and dashboards using Power BI for management review.
Analyze financial data to provide insights into business performance and trends.
Ensure compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
Proven experience in general ledger management, financial reporting, and cost allocations.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and implement efficient financial processes.
Tech-savvy with expertise in using Power BI for financial reporting and analysis.
Knowledge of accounting software and ERP systems; experience in system implementation is a plus.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across departments.
